Made for What?

Nowadays everyone is in such a rush that we don’t stop to think: what is it all for? What was it that I was dreaming of, and what is it that I am supposed to do? Dreaming of doing, and suppose to do…

There is a big difference unless you are supposed to do what you are dreaming of doing. Perspective is everything in this case. The real question is: What are you made for?

Everyone has dreams; whether it’s a kid who wants to grow up, a woman who wants to have a career and/or be a mother, a man who wants to be with the woman he loves, or just anyone after their life-long goals. What we strive to do is get these dreams to be our reality, and when we cannot do that, we dream they are real. Make-believe ourselves that the life we envisioned for ourselves is true.

The problem rises when you dive too deep into dreams that you cannot come out to the surface of reality. It’s here, really, at this thin line between reality and dreams that we need to be sure of who we are, what are we made for?

I remember listening to a song, ‘Made for You’, where Jake Owen starts to list all the simple things made for other things:
“Friday nights for football games, front porch steps for goodnight kisses, two pink lines for growing up, 2 am’s for pissed-off dads, and early curfews for sneaking past…”

The very simplest things in life, that we’ve all been through, all have a purpose for in life. They are the reason or result of something else. So, what are you made for? Is it for your kids, husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, friends, family, your career, or just for yourself?

And how do we figure that out? Well, for one thing, we need to know what we want in life, and to know that, we need to know ourselves. And I mean the simple things: what’s your favorite color, how do you like your eggs, what’s your favorite season, do you like to read and learn or watch and learn, are you analytical or literary in your reasoning, how often do you listen to your heart…

All these questions should have an answer for you, to be able to figure out who you are in this world, where you stand, and what you are made for.
